Downtown Stroudsburg Welcomes New Boxing Gym

A brand new place to learn how to box and get into shape comes to downtown Stroudsburg.

Wolf’s Den Boxing opened its doors last Wednesday, May 18. The gym is located at 564 Main St. The site was formerly Signature Training Academy. Two members of the academy, Adam Ruben and Leo Quinones, found themselves in a bit of a predicament after the gym relocated to Brodheadsville and closed its Stroudsburg location at the end of last year. With nowhere local to train, the two East Stroudsburg South graduates felt a calling to continue where their former gym left off.

Wolf’s Den Boxing offers various classes and training programs for all ages. Currently, their focus is on boxing, cardio, and combat sports. They offer self-defense and one-on-one training. However, they have plans to expand into muay thai and wrestling as soon as they are able. The gym boasts 15 heavy bags, including 200 and 300-pound bags. Other amenities include light weights, giant tires, sledgehammers, and ropes, but the highlight is their 14′ x 14′ boxing ring.

The owners wanted to create an atmosphere where everyone in the community could come train and keep fit. “Boxing is a guaranteed way to lose weight and keep fit,” says Ruben. “You never see out-of-shape boxers.” It’s a family-friendly place for anyone ages six on up. Wolf’s Den offers cardio classes Mon-Fri from 6-7 pm and from 10-12 on Saturdays for adults, as well as a children’s class from 5-6 pm during the week. A Zoomba class is also in the works.
