On Sunday, May 15, 2022, Monroe County Habitat for Humanity (MCHFH) will hold its 5th annual She Nailed It! competition on the front lawn at the Shawnee Inn. This event is set to run from 11 AM to 5 PM and is free for all to attend. Being hosted by Chris Barrett of the Pocono Mountain Visitors Bureau, She Nailed it! will feature live entertainment provided by DJ MVP, Kevin
McIntyre as Elvis, The Lost Ramblers, and Byrd Presley. The event will also feature karaoke, vendors, raffles featuring premium prizes, and Face Painting by Crystal Klein’s Funtastic Faces and Body Art available from 2:30 PM -4:30 PM. Food and drinks will also be available for purchase from the Shawnee Inn.
All proceeds allow MCHFH to continue to work toward their vision of every person in Monroe County having a safe and decent place to live. “We know that is only with the support of our community that we can only continue to build better lives in Monroe County.” Says, Dr. Kelly Jean Kemmerer, MCHFH’s Executive Director. Continuing, “She Nailed It! – MCHFH’s most exciting fundraiser – pits teams of four women against each other in a nail hammering competition to determine which team can pound the most nails in a 2×4 in an allotted amount of time and take home the Golden Hammer. The competition has become intense over the last four years with the Weiler Warrior Women having emerged as the team to beat. They’ve won the Golden Hammer the last three years and are looking forward to defending their title.” Ten teams have already signed on to challenge the Weiler Warrior Women and there is still time to register for what promises to be a lively, nail-biting event.
