On Tuesday, Lehigh Valley Health Network Specialists are offering free Skin Cancer screenings at the LVPG Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Center.
Screenings will occur from on Tuesday, July 26, 5:00 PM to7:00 PM, and include a screen for suspicious moles and freckles, discolored or bleeding patches, and other marks that may indicate cancer at the LVPG Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
According to the Skin Cancer Foundation, 1 in 5 Americans will develop skin cancer by the age of 70. More than two people die of skin cancer in the U.S. every hour. Having five or more sunburns doubles your risk for melanoma. When detected early, the 5-year survival rate for melanoma is 99 percent. All skin cancers may be curable when found early. Although it most often occurs on sun-exposed skin, skin cancer can occur anywhere in the body. The Lehigh Valley Topper Cancer Institute is offering this free 15-minute skin cancer screening for individuals to spot and stop skin cancer early.
Due to COVID-19 Mandates, the LVHN strongly encourages all attendees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. If you have been diagnosed with COVID-19 within two weeks of this visit or are experiencing symptoms, please stay home. Masks are required.
