About Monroe County Meals on Wheels

Church Women United organized Monroe County’s first and only Meals on Wheels program in 1972 with the support of the Monroe County Clergy Association. In October of that year, Monroe County Meals on Wheels began delivering meals to 11 clients in Stroudsburg with the assistance of various county groups, including Visiting Nurse, AARP, MH-MR, and the Cooperative Extension Service. 50 years later, our volunteers deliver to more than 260+ clients within 10+ routes throughout Monroe County, Pennsylvania; providing them with superior nutritional support, daily human connection, and other supportive services to the home-bound so they may remain safe and independent in their homes.
