Music In The Mountains Invites Guests To Celebrate 13th Season

Thursday, the Pocono Mountains Music Festival will launch the 13th season of their Music in the Mountains event.

Music in the Mountains will run from July 21 to July 30 and will feature live music, concerts, and events with musical stylings ranging from Opera Halls to Rock & Roll Concerts. According to their website, “You will see world-class artists of varying musical mediums and the stars of tomorrow straight from your own backyard! Get ready for some magical moments you will never forget!”

Opening night, Thursday, July 21, is called “The Line-Up” and includes an anything-goes variety show with entertainers from Broadway and beyond. Hosted by Susie Mosher, this will be held at The Tennis Tea at 7:00 PM. Returning from last year’s event is broadway star, Blaine Alden Krauss. He will perform in an intimate cabaret setting for Friday’s event titled “From The Soul,” starting at 6:00 PM at the Fairway Grille at Buck Hill Falls. Saturday’s event will be held at Pocono Mountains East High School and is titled “Valjean, Cosette, & a String Quartet.” The event starts at 7:30 PM and will feature Tony Award nominee Josh Young (Jesus Christ Superstar, Amazing Grace), and his wife, Broadway star Emily Padgett (Rock of Ages, Side Show, Bright Star), celebrating the mega-musicals of the 1980s, with songs from Les Miserable, Cats, Phantom and more. Sunday will be a major donor jazz brunch featuring acclaimed jazz vocalist and songwriter Gabrielle Stravelli bringing the rhythmic swing of jazz to the Great American Songbook.

Friday night, the festival picks back up at Pocono Mountains East High School with “The Room Where It Happens.” At 6:30 PM, students from the 2022 Performing Arts Camp will show off their talents in an exhilarating and inspiring concert. This is a free event, but donations will be gratefully accepted that evening. Finally, on Saturday, July 30, Music in the Mountains ends at The Sherman Theatre as the Pocono Pops Orchestra performs, “Jersey Boys & Girls,” a musical extravaganza honoring iconic artists from the Jersey State, starting at 7:00 PM.
