The Pocono Chamber of Commerce’s Women in Business council has created two scholarship opportunities this year, through their scholarship program, for female leaders in Monroe County.
The Pocono Chamber of Commerce’s Women in Business Scholarship program recognizes Monroe County female professionals who have demonstrated their dedication to bettering our community and supporting its leaders. The two available scholarships this year include one for a high school student in the pursuit of higher education and one for a Monroe County professional continuing their education. The application deadline is September 1. Scholarships will be announced in early Fall 2022. Completed applications can be submitted to the Pocono Chamber of Commerce by mail or email.
Continued Education Scholarship
This Scholarship Opportunity recognizes Monroe County female professionals who have demonstrated their dedication to empowering the leaders of our community and their commitment to bettering our community. The scholarship assists women in their pursuit of continuing their education and their desire to assist other women in reaching their full leadership potential after they finish continuing their education.
Professional Scholarship General Criteria:
- Applicant must have demonstrated community service (for example school, faith-based or civic organizations, or employers).
- Applicant will be attending an accredited college or university educational program during the following academic year.
- Applicant must be a resident of Monroe County, Pennsylvania. How to Apply Complete ALL requested information on the application form. *You need not be accepted at a school before applying for the scholarship. Submit the application to the Women’s Business Council Scholarship Selection Committee.
High School Student Scholarship
The Scholarship Opportunity The Pocono Chamber Women in Business Scholarship recognizes outstanding female high school seniors who have demonstrated academic ability and a commitment to learning, achievement, and community service. The scholarship assists young women in their pursuit of higher education and their desire to assist other young women in reaching their full leadership potential after post-secondary graduation.
High School Scholarship General Criteria:
- Applicant must be a student in good standing at her high school and must have maintained an overall 3.0 GPA. Good standing is defined as acceptable citizenship and attendance.
- Applicant must have demonstrated community service (for example school, faith-based or civic organizations, or employers).
- Applicant will be attending an accredited post-secondary educational program during the following academic year.
- Applicant must be a resident of Monroe County, Pennsylvania. How to Apply Complete ALL requested information on the application form. *You need not be accepted at a school before applying for the scholarship. Submit the application to your Guidance Counselor for their endorsement and they will forward the application to the Women’s Business Council Scholarship Selection Committee.
Women in Business
The Women in Business Scholarship program recognizes Monroe County female professionals who have demonstrated their dedication to bettering our community and supporting its leaders. These scholarships assist women in their pursuit of continuing their education and in their desire to assist other women in reaching their full leadership potential after they finish their continuing education.
The Women in Business committee supports promotes and empowers business women of the Pocono Region. They strive to provide opportunities for women to connect with and support each other through programs and events that contribute to the professional development of our members. They facilitate member success through business and career growth as well as networking opportunities for women to increase their professional capacity and develop a support system.
