About Ain’t Misbehavin’

Ain’t Misbehavin’ is a musical Tribute show to Thomas Fats Waller. This musical is sure to get you on your feet and groove to the sounds of this pivotal moment in our history. The inimitable Thomas “Fats” Waller rose to international fame during the Golden Age of the Cotton Club and that jumpin’ new beat, swing music. Although not quite a biography, Ain’t Misbehavin’ evokes the delightful humor and infectious energy of this American original. A versatile cast struts, strums, and sings the songs he made famous in a career ranging from uptown clubs to downtown Tin Pan Alley to Hollywood and concert stages in the U.S., Canada, and Europe. New York Magazine called Ain’t Misbehavin’ “The Perfect Broadway Musical!” Assembled by the original director, Richard Maltby Jr., and co-creator Murray Horowitz, Ain’t Misbehavin’ is one of the most popular, well-crafted revues of all time and winner of the 1978 Tony Award for Best Musical. Ain’t Misbehavin’ features songs like “Honey Suckle Rose, This Joint is Jumpin and the title song Ain’t Misbehavin.’

This musical stars Nikki Cohen as Nell, Alyssa Ramsey as Charlaine, Solomon Kee as Andre, Jazzy Thomas as Armelia, and Brandon Hanks as Ken. The show features a Live Jazz Band: June Thomas on Piano, Michael Thompson on Drums, Joseph Dorsch on Tenor Saxophone, Anna Speer on Bass, Debbie Thompson on Alto Saxophone/Clarinet, Jeff Thompson on Trumpet, and Brian Hodges on Trombone. The musical is directed and choreographed by Brandon Hanks.
