State Senator Mario Scavello Holds 20th Annual Senior Expo

Tuesday Morning, State Senator Mario Scavello held his 20th annual Senior Expo at Swiftwater Elementary Center, inviting locals to meet their congressmen and learn more about the numerous non-profit and government agencies that are available to them.

This year’s Senior Expo featured over 70 exhibitors from non-profit and government agencies, providing information on the services they offer, benefiting seniors. In addition to Senator Scavello, the Senior Expo is co-sponsored by State Representatives Rosemary Brown, Maureen Madden, and Jack Rader, who was also in attendance. Attendees flooded the packed school to learn more about available resources. In addition to the free admission, the event also offered attendees health screenings, educational seminars, refreshments, the chance to win door prizes, and more.

State Senator Mario Scavello represents the 40th Senatorial District, which includes portions of Monroe and Northampton counties. He was excited to show seniors of the community what is available to them. “Each year, the Senior Expo provides a wealth of information to help our area seniors manage their finances, take control of their health, and protect against potential scams targeting seniors,” said Scavello. “This gets them out, busses bring them in from the senior centers and they look forward to it. It’s a way for the seniors who are visiting the school to get information on anything that’s on their mind, any issues that they’re dealing with. Everybody’s here to help them. The information that they get is so important to them, from health to finding ways to get some extra dollars, many lived on a fixed income, anything helps.”

Mario Scavello Annual Senior Expo will return next year.
