Senator Scavello To Hold Senior Expo This Tuesday

This Tuesday, area senior citizens are encouraged to take part in State Senator Mario Scavello’s Annual Senior Expo to meet local congressmen and learn more about the numerous non-profit and government agencies that are available to them.

This Tuesday, July 19, State Senator Mario Scavello will host his annual Senior Expo at Pocono Mountain Swiftwater Elementary Center. The event will run from 9 AM to 1 PM. In addition to Senator Scavello, the Senior Expo is co-sponsored by State Representatives Rosemary Brown, Maureen Madden, and Jack Rader, who will also attend.

This year’s Senior Expo will feature over 70 exhibitors from non-profit and government agencies, providing information on the services they offer benefiting seniors. Admission is free for all ages.

State Senator Mario Scavello represents the 40th Senatorial District, which includes portions of Monroe and Northampton counties, he is excited to show seniors of the community what is available to them. “Each year the Senior Expo provides a wealth of information to help our area seniors manage their finances, take control of their health, and protect against potential scams targeting seniors,” said Scavello. “Our seniors form the backbone of our communities and this is a valuable opportunity to receive information on new topics and services available to enable them to live independently. I encourage all seniors to attend and learn what services best benefit you.”  

The event promises something for everyone, in addition to the free admission, attendees can expect door prizes, health screenings, educational seminars, refreshments, and more. Additional outdoor exhibitors will include the Hughes Library Book Mobile and the PA Department of Military and Veterans Affairs Mobile Van.
