This weekend will mark the 16th Annual National Alpaca Farm Days, to celebrate two local farms are inviting the public to learn more about these furry friends.
MONROE COUNTY, PA | On Saturday, September 24, and Sunday, September 25, 2022, the 16th Annual National Alpaca Farm Days is set. In observance, The Eredita farm in Saylorsburg and Pohopoco Creek Alpacas in Effort are opening their doors, inviting the public to experience alpacas up close.
The Eredita farm is open to the public from 11:00 AM until 5:00 PM on both days, allowing attendees to meet the herd, learn more about alpacas, and experience them up close. On both days attendees can see the whispering pines nursery, tour the farm, and shop for unique alpaca products. Saturday will feature Alaska Ice Shave 69 and Sunday will feature a taste of Brooklyn. According to their website, their motivation is to maintain a safe environment where they can take in and care for some of Nature’s most precious creatures. The goal is to help educate the community by granting them access to the Eredita farm where they can become more familiar with the fuzzy inhabitants. Event attendees are asked to park on the road.
Pohopoco Creek Alpacas is open to the public from 10:30 AM until 5:00 PM on Saturday and 11:00 AM until 5:00 PM on Sunday. According to their website, attendees will be able to experience alpacas up-close, feel the alpaca fleece, view live demonstrations, learn about raising alpacas and other local agricultural interests, shop for alpaca products & local farm products, and taste at the Cardinal Mobile Wine Trailer & Barley Creek Brewery. Event parking and admission are free.
