On Tuesday, the Pocono Township Police arrested an East Stroudsburg man, identifying him as the shooter in the TLC park shooting case.
On August 16, 2022, Pocono Township Police arrested Esthan Edwin Estrada, age 22, of East Stroudsburg as the shooter in the assault at Tannersville Learning Center basketball court on June 6, 2022, that left one victim paralyzed from the waist down.
According to the Pocono Township Police Department, on June 6, 2022, at approximately 19:12 hours, Pocono Township Police responded to TLC park for a report of shots fired. Approximately 20 to 25 people were at the park, and most were playing basketball when a fight started. Reportedly, a large physical brawl broke out after a player associated with the victim was teased for shooting an air ball. Estrada and his crew of five others were outnumbered and losing the fight, so he decided to pull a weapon from a backpack and start shooting in the court.
Estrada chased after the victim and shot him in the back as he was running away. Estrada is charged with Attempted Homicide, Aggravated Assault, Tampering with/ Fabricating Physical Evidence, and the Reckless Endangerment of Others.
Estrada was arraigned on August 16, 2022, by Magisterial District Judge Daniel Kresge, and bail was denied. The Pocono Township Police have identified and arrested two individuals associated with the shooter in the case on June 30. Javier D. Giraldo Jr. and Alexander Santos, both from East Stroudsburg, were charged as accomplices in the case.
