The Grierfest Comedy Show is returning to Stroudsburg for one night of laughs.
The Sherman Showcase will host the Grierfest Comedy Show on Saturday, May 6, at 8 pm. The show will feature two national headliners, with local comedian John Grier as host.
Grierfest originally began as a John Grier birthday tradition with a couple of close friends. However, more recently, it has transformed into something the community has also had the opportunity to participate in. Grier will be celebrating his 40th birthday with a couple of comedy icons, and everyone’s invited to the party. Saturday’s show will feature four hilarious comedians that walk a fine line along the edge of what’s appropriate and what’s not. According to someone who has attended a previous Grierfest, one can expect to fall out of their seat with laughter or hold their sides in agony because they’re laughing so hard it hurts.
Legendary comic and Friar’s Club writer Chip Ambrogio is among the two headlining acts. A master of the stage, he has toured alongside the late great Gilbert Godfried. A mentor to aspiring comedians, Ambrogio has taught the art of comedy to over 500 students throughout the northeastern United States.
The second headliner of the evening is Anthony Crescenzo. The New Jersey native has performed on The Wendy Williams Show, RAI International, and was featured on Married At First Sight. Crescenzo is currently filming an Amazon Prime comedy special, and his new film Due Season will release on BET.
The self-proclaimed Sandwich President of Pennsylvania, Nate marks, will open. This up-and-coming comic will have you at the edge of your seat, with comedic songs that will leave the muscles in your eyes tearing up and your face sore from laughing hysterically.
MC/Host John Grier has dedicated himself to bringing laughter and joy to others. His innovative sense of humor is seen regularly at comedy clubs throughout the tri-state area. He’s celebrating his birthday the only way he knows how… right here at home, Grierfest style.
