Mount Pocono Welcomes New Salt Cave

On Thursday, May 26th, Mount Pocono welcomed its business as Crystal Gardens’ newest expansion, the Salt Cave, celebrated its grand opening. Around 5:30 PM, guests arrived in anticipation of the ribbon-cutting planned for 6:00 PM, giving them time to talk and be among the first to experience the salt cave for themselves.

Friends, family, and guests alike lined up inside and watched as Senator Mario Scavello presented Diana Iriarte, the shop owner, with a citation in recognition of the grand opening from the commonwealth of Pennsylvania, signed by himself, State Representative Rosemary Brown, and State Representative Jack Rader. State Representative Maureen Madden also presented Iriarte with a certificate commending, congratulating, and wishing her continued success in all future endeavors on behalf of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Guests then went outside and christened the new opening with the ribbon cutting.

Initially opening in October 2019, Crystal Garden is a place for For Your Mind. Body & Spirit. It regularly hosts yoga classes, reiki energy healing, therapeutic sound messages, custom meditations, inspirational workshops, and more with its newest addition, salt cave sessions. “I decided that I wanted to work for myself and I wanted to work on something that I loved. So we started the crystal shop, we started doing events, getting together with my people, and two years later, I decided that I wanted to do my own salt cave,” said Iriarte.

According to Crystal Gardens, website, “The benefits of halotherapy, generally referred to as salt therapy, have been known and practiced for a long time throughout Europe, but now us folks on the other side of the Atlantic have the opportunity to reap the benefits. We have constructed a salt room in which a halogenerator disperses pure 99.99% pharmaceutical grade salt micro-particles into the room. The negative ions in salt particles help purify the air, which helps increase your lung capacity. If you have any respiratory illnesses, this can be very beneficial. Salt has upwards of 84 minerals that the skin will absorb in the salt cave. One of the benefits of salt, as opposed to mineral salts, is that it helps the skin attract moisture. The floor and walls are covered with Himalayan salt for ultimate relaxation and renewal.”
