Pocono Township Arrests 2 Criminals This Week In Monroe County.

In Monroe County, two criminals got arrested in the past week. These crimes range from alleged homicide to drug paraphernalia.  

Pocono Twp | This past week two criminals got arrested, one for allegedly attempting homicide at The Learning Center (TLC) Park and the other for possession of drug paraphernalia after a car accident near the Pocono Cheesecake Factory, according to Pocono Township Police.

On August 16, 2022, Pocono Township Police arrested Esthan Edwin ESTRADA, 22, East Stroudsburg, for the shooting and assault at Tannersville Learning Center basketball court on June 6, 2022, leaving the victim paralyzed from the waist down, according to Pocono Township Police. The disagreement began when one associate of the victim shot an air ball, and the shooter on the other teased him about missing, then escalated to profanities, and threats of violence, transforming into a fight. Estrada and his outnumbered group of five were losing the physical brawl. Estrada then pulled a weapon from a backpack and started shooting in the court. Estrada then chased after the victim, ending with the victim being shot in the back while running away. 

According to Pocono Township Police, Estrada has the following charges:

  • (1) count of Attempted Homicide 
  • (1) count of Aggravated Assault 
  • (1) count of Tampering With/Fabrication of Physical Evidence 
  • (M2) Incident Type: Attempted Homicide

Elyssa M Beltran

On August 14, 2022, at 2:41 pm, Pocono Township Police Department responded to the area of SR0611 and Pocono Cheesecake Factory regarding a single vehicle motor vehicle accident, according to Pocono Township Police. When officers spoke with Elyssa M Beltran, she initially provided false information to the police. After further investigation, her identity is discovered and later located. Beltran had an active warrant out of Lehigh County Parole Office. Beltran was taken to Monroe County Correctional Facility, awaiting extradition. Officers at the scene of the accident located drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. 

According to Pocono Township Police, the following charges are pending:

  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (M) 
  • Incident Type: Drugs / Narcotics Violation
